|TILE INSTALLATION by A TILE NATION
With over 30 years of tile installation experience we have
seen a lot of changes when it comes to custom tile
Bathroom and tile design is seeing porcelain mixed with
natural stone tiles as a major trend in the bathroom and
kitchen remodeling industry.
The wall tile in this tile installation project is a 12x12
porcelain tile and features a river rock tile centered along
the shower valve wall.
Porcelain tile is used to trim around the glass block
window. Kohler plumbing fixtures 2 shampoo shelves and
a floating shower seat add to the design.
CUSTOM BATHROOM DESIGN
The floor tile installation is a 20x20 porcelain tile set in
a straight pattern with a tile border set with the same river
rock tile used for the shower stall and shower pan floor.
The shower pan installation included Schluter/Kerdi
shower pan tray and waterproofing membrane along with
the Schluter shower curb and shower drain.
I would say that we install Schluter/Kerdi shower pans on
90% of our shower pan installations with the remainder
being either liquid membrane or vinyl liners such as Oatey
shower pan liners.
It just depends on the project, client and their budget and
The tiled shower pan included custom made fish tile inserted into the shower floor
tile. The homeowner wanted to give the impression of fish swimming up stream,
hence the river rock tile installed along the valve wall.
The tile installer laid out and dry fitted the floor tile and the homeowner placed the
fish tile where she wanted. The fish tile were custom made and painted ceramic tile.
The natural stone tile was sealed with an impregnator before grouting and again
after the grouting had cured.
SHOWER FLOOR TILE INSTALLATION
Once the tile lay out is determined for the shower
floor tile installation can begin. The wall tile is cut
The shower also features a floating shower seat
which is screwed into the studs filled with cement
and tiled over for a custom look.
The shower curb is tiled with the porcelain tile that
is installed for the bathroom floor.
BATHROOM VANITY and MIRROR
The mirror is made to size by the glass door
company and the river rock tile installation that
is framing the mirror gives the bathroom design
a custom finish.
Granite vanity top and pine tree sconces add to
the appeal of this design.
